Opening Reception December 6, 2013, 6 to 9
Recently returned from an artist residency in Slovenia, Shanna Maurizi presents new work that explores areas where description attempts to give shape to unknown phenomena.  Working with the tension between the opposing poles of scientific understanding and mystification, the pieces originate in film photography and are realized as altered C-prints, collages, and screenprints.
