Carpenter Creative Corridor
Carpenter Creative Corridor is a decentralized community art school in Detroit. CCC is a partnership between Popps Packing, The Hinterlands and Playhouse Laboratories, Ceramics School, The Bangla School of Music, and myself. CCC offers ongoing free public art classes for all and is funded by the Michigan Community Center Grant through the Michigan Community Service Commission. Camp Carpenter, a project of CCC, is a no-cost summer outdoor adventure camp for neighborhood youth. Campers work alongside professional artists and builders and learn how to use basic hand tools, to take their designs from idea to reality, to collaborate across age groups, to tell imaginative stories through theater games and role playing and more.
